The Best Summer Crock Pot Recipes
Slow cookers or crockpots (for the purpose of this article they are the same thing, even though they are subtle differences between them both) are notorious for making dinner with little effort. My crockpot is used almost daily! The last thing I want to do when I get in from work is to stand on my feet for another hour or so cooking dinner!
So what I do before I go to bed in the evening is get everything ready for tomorrow’s meal. Then before I leave the house, I put all of my ingredients into the crockpot and let it do all the leg work while I am out working! It really is as simple as that usually! My husband even preferes crockpot meals over regular cooked meals, he says the flavors are just so much better when cooked in a crockpot. I have to agree.
I have the BEST slow cooker rib recipe I think you are all going to absolutely LOVE! They are packed with flavor and best of all, no leg work as you are letting the slow cooker do it all! Perfect for a nice summers meal. Recipe at the bottom of this page!

The BEST Slow Cooker Baby Back Rib Recipe
Top questions I get asked about this recipe:
Can the ribs be pink?
The meat in the center should be white and there should be no pink juices.
How many baby back ribs per person?
I use a slab of ribs per 2 people, that usually means about 8-14 ribs. So about 1 to 1.5 lbs.
What is the difference between baby back ribs and regular ribs?
Baby Back Ribs don’t have as much fat as spare ribs do. It also means more meat, but meat that is also less tender and more chewier.
Can I use a crock pot instead of a slow cooker?
In my experience they are the same thing. A slow cooker has a metal pot and a crock pot usually has a ceramic / stoneware pot. So to answer your question, yes I would use both as if they were the same.
Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs
3 lbs. Pork Back Ribs
18 oz. Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce -1 bottle
6 oz. Dr. Pepper – use ½ of a 12 oz. can
⅛ tsp. Salt
⅛ tsp. Pepper
Cut the Rib rack in half
Sprinkle Salt and Pepper on the ribs, then place in slow cooker.
Combine BBQ Sauce and Dr. Pepper in bowl, be sure to mix these 2 liquids well, save ½ cup, then pour the remaining sauce over ribs in the slow cooker.
Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on HIGH for 4 hours, or LOW for 8 hours, or until done.
Remove ribs from the slow cooker and brush on remainder of the sauce. EAT!
Side Note: If you want extra moist ribs spoon the sauce over ribs a few times while cooking.
