I've been looking for a healthy yet delicious appetizer and I think I have found the one in this baked sweet potato fries recipe. It's so easy to make yet tastes so nice.
2largesweet potatoespeeled and cut to ¼ inch thick julienne strips
2tablespoonsolive oil
1pinchsalt
1pinchpepper
Instructions
Before preparing the sweet potatoes, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use non-stick vegetable cooking spray on your baking sheet to keep the potatoes from sticking.
Place the strips of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag and drizzle them with olive oil. Seal the plastic bag and shake it gently to coat the strips evenly.
Spread the sweet potatoes evenly in one layer. On the prepared baking sheet, pop the tray into the oven and bake for 15 minutes. After the allotted time, gently turn the fries over so that the other side is cooked evenly. Pop the sweet potato fries back into the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
To season your fries, you can use salt and pepper. But for more adventurous palates, try powdered ginger, cayenne pepper or Thai chilli powder. Some people choose to spice the strips before baking so that the spices are soaked into the fries, while others prefer to sprinkle the flavour on after.
