Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, ensuring to break it up with a wooden spoon.
Add the onion and garlic to the ground beef, continuing to sauté until the onion becomes translucent, roughly 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk, allowing the mixture to come together into a simmer. Mix in the frozen vegetables, salt, and black pepper then remove from heat.
Transfer the beef mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden and crispy. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and return to oven for another 10 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

Notes
For a richer flavor, consider browning the tater tots in a skillet first. This dish can be modified for a lighter version by using ground turkey and a reduced-fat cheese. Seek organic and fresh ingredients for a more pronounced taste.
